cast elliptical pipe, (730 mm x 1150 mm to 1950 mm x 3070 mm) as
well as dry cast box culverts, (1800 mm x 900 to 2400 mm x 3000
mm). A bay in the plant is set aside for wet cast products such
as standard size box maintenance holes, (900 mm x 900 mm to 3000
mm x 3800 mm). A wide array of specialty products are also produced
in this bay such as pump stations, wet wells, siphon chambers, sump
pits and special sized box maintenance holes.
M-Con Products Inc. has installed a fully computerized 450 tonne
batch plant with two high volume mixers. The computerized batching
provides accurate and consistent mixes required for producing high
quality products. The reinforcing steel for the concrete pipes and
maintenance holes is manufactured with two high output resistance
welding machines. These machines automatically shape, weld and cut
steel wire to form the various steel cages required. The joints
of the dry cast concrete pipe and maintenance holes are sealed with
a pre-lubricated gasket, eliminating the need to “soap”
the gaskets on site.
